At the conclusion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  1. Describe the common misconceptions related to acute pain management in patients with opioid use disorder (OUD).
  2. Discuss the difference in pharmacological properties of buprenorphine and methadone for pain management and OUD.
  3. Develop a treatment plan for a patient with OUD being maintained on methadone or buprenorphine.
