The Guthrie Cardiac and Vascular Center held a luncheon on Sept. 25 in Sayre, Pa. in celebration of completing 100 successful transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) procedures since the program began in Aug. 2014.
Guthrie is pleased to announce that the Guthrie Weight Loss Center in Sayre, Pa. has recently received a three year reaccreditation from the Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Accreditation and Quality Improvement Program (MBSAQIP).
Guthrie has been reaccredited as a Comprehensive MBSAQIP center. This means that the Guthrie Weight Loss Center offers patients seeking surgical treatment for severe obesity and its related conditions a high-quality choice for receiving treatment at a nationally accredited program that meets the highest standards for patient safety and quality of care.
The Guthrie Community Garden in Sayre, Pa. underwent a recent expansion thanks to a group of volunteers.
A local group of Girl Scouts, who have been tending the garden this summer, were joined by members of Guthrie’s senior leadership team and representatives from Chartis for a work day. The group harvested vegetables, tended garden plots and built additional beds that will be used next season.
A record setting $115,000 was raised for Sayre House of Hope at the annual Guthrie Gala which was held on Sept. 10 in Sayre, Pa. The 2016 Guthrie Gala was sponsored by Title Sponsor Elderwood at Waverly and VIP Sponsors Henry Dunn Insurance & Real Estate and Korn Ferry, and was attended by 350 guests.
The Sayre House of Hope, which will receive the funds, is a residence that provides family-centered lodging to patients and their loved ones while receiving medical treatment at Guthrie.
