Guthrie is proud to announce the arrival of the following providers who recently joined the organization:
Guthrie is pleased to announce the recent three-year reaccreditation of its mobile MRI and CT units by the American College of Radiology (ACR). These small mobile units allow multi-million dollar, state-of-the-art imaging services to travel to smaller facilities so patients do not have to travel.
On Sunday evening, July 17, there was a small, isolated fire in an office on the fifth floor of Guthrie Robert Packer Hospital. Patients were immediately and safely moved to rooms away from the fire area. The fire was quickly extinguished, and clean-up began immediately. The damage is currently being assessed but is primarily water damage.
The hospital emergency department remained open throughout the incident and a family reception area was created to inform family members about the location of their family members.
A new study published in Antimicrobial Agents and Chemotherapy found that one in twenty adults have misused antibiotics by hoarding them or taking “leftovers” without a prescription. Guthrie recommends cautious use of antibiotics, only with a prescription, in line with recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
