Guthrie Named One of the Nation's Most Wired Health Care Systems for Fifth Year Running

Guthrie has been recognized as one of the nation’s Most Wired hospitals, according to the results of the 2015 Most Wired Survey released by the American Hospital Association’s Health Forum and the College of Healthcare Information Management Executives (CHIME).

This is the fifth consecutive year and the ninth time in thirteen years that Guthrie has been recognized with a Most Wired award. The survey showed that health data security and patient engagement are critical priorities for the health care systems who received this prestigious award.

Guthrie Robert Packer Hospital Temporarily Relocates Emergency Department Entrance From Midnight to 8 a.m.

The Guthrie Robert Packer Hospital Emergency Department entrance will TEMPORARILY relocate over three nights next week between midnight and 8 a.m. for essential maintenance and upgrades. All patients are to enter the Emergency Department through the Main Entrance Atrium during this time. 

This will not impact patient services or emergency care, and the Emergency Department will remain open during this time. The work will begin on Tuesday, July 14 at 11:30 p.m. and is anticipated to continue each night until Friday, July 17 at 8 a.m.

Golf for Guthrie Hospice Raises Over $40,000

The 13th Annual Golf for Guthrie Hospice raised over $40,000 for hospice care. The event was held on June 19 at the Club at Shepard Hills in Waverly, N.Y.  More than 50 local sponsors and donors, and 36 teams contributed to this year’s event. First place honors were awarded to the Wyoming Casing Team.

The event also saw the generous donation of $5,000 to Guthrie Hospice from the Sayre American Legion Post 283 in honor of their former commander Bruce Newman who was recently diagnosed with cancer.

Guthrie Issues the 62 Challenge

Guthrie is challenging patients, employees and members of the community to stay active this summer with the 62 Challenge. The challenge is to complete 62 miles in 62 days – one mile a day during the months of July and August. The challenge encourages the community to get active by heading outdoors, exploring the area, and involving family, friends, and neighbors.

Local R&B Musician Ike Bowers Headlines Guthrie Summer Concert Event

The Guthrie Troy Community Hospital Auxiliary is pleased to announce Ike Bowers as the headline act for their annual free summer concert and ice cream social. Bowers, a local resident and a member of the rhythm and blues/doo-wop group Harold Winley’s Clovers, will be performing from 6:30 - 8 p.m. on July 10 on the green in downtown Troy.

The event kicks off with food and an ice cream social on sale from 5:30 p.m. Refreshments for purchase will include hot dogs, sloppy joes, ice cream and pies, and a variety of beverages.
