Serenity Garden Complete at Renzi Cancer Center
Work is now complete on the Serenity Garden at the Renzi Cancer Center at Guthrie Cortland Medical Center. The Serenity Garden is a gift from the Yaman Family Foundation, part of the Cortland Memorial Foundation’s Cancer Center Campaign. The Cortland Memorial Foundation supports the Guthrie Cortland Medical Center and its mission.
“What an incredible gesture of extra care for our patients from the Yaman Family,” said Sheila Ossit, Director of the Cortland Memorial Foundation. “It’s a beautiful space.”
The garden runs the full length of the Renzi Cancer Center, offering a beautiful view for patients undergoing treatment.
“The Serenity Garden is a wonderful addition to the view from our individual infusion bays,” said Carey Wilk, RN Oncology Nurse Navigator. “Each infusion bay includes a window that looks out onto the garden, providing a peaceful and calming view for our patients and their guest. The patients at the Renzi Cancer Center are blessed to have an incredibly supportive community behind them, helping them through their cancer journey.”
The Serenity Garden also includes two new trees, one planted in honor of former Cortland Memorial Foundation Director, Deborah Nadolski and one for the Cancer Center’s namesake and major donor, Nicholas Renzi.
