Guthrie Hospice Hosts Good Grief Day Camp

Good Grief Camp

Guthrie Hospice hosted the 2022 Good Grief Day Camp from June 28-30 for children 6-18 who have experienced the loss of a loved one. The three main goals of the camp are helping children learn and understand that the emotions they experience are normal, to celebrate the life of the person they lost, and to identify coping skills.

Children who attended worked on memory books that focus on their loved one, with photos and therapeutic worksheets. This year, the camp welcomed Guitarist Woody Wolfe from Heart-to-Heart Ministries, who provided music therapy for campers. Attendees were also able to spend time with a registered therapy dog named Mellie.

Guthrie Hospice offers Good Grief Day Camp every June. For more information about the camp, call 570-265-8615.
