Guthrie and Fidelis Care Remind Patients to Recertify Their Medicaid Coverage
The Guthrie Clinic and Fidelis Care have partnered to inform and educate the public about a major change in the health insurance renewal process. This change could impact millions of New Yorkers with Medicaid, Child Health Plus, Essential Plan, and Managed Long Term Care coverage. Because of recently passed federal legislation related to the end of the COVID-19 public health emergency, about nine million people in New York, including nearly 30,000 Guthrie patients and two million Fidelis Care members, will need to renew their health insurance for the first time in three years or risk losing coverage.
Medicaid coverage must be recertified every 12 months. While Guthrie has partnered with Fidelis in New York State to distribute this important message, this change also impacts our patients in Pennsylvania. We encourage you to contact your local state Medicaid office or your insurance company to ensure recertification steps are completed timely.
