Guthrie Patient: October 2018
I had never seen Emily Riggs before and I have truly never had a worse experience with a doctor in my entire life. From the moment that she walked into the room, she had an attitude towards me and acted like I had no reason being there in the first place. She treated me like it was a waste of her time to even be in the same room as me. I am a young, healthy almost 25 year old girl that came in complaining of chest pains and shortness of breath. I would think this isn't a normal thing and should be treated with precaution, but instead, I was treated as if I was crazy while she tried telling me that my vitals were fine and I 'seriously' needed to look into anxiety medication like Prozac or Lexipro. She asked me why I 'was even there' multiple times and was even asked how I 'expected this appointment to go'. My jaw hit the floor, I thought it was her job to tell me that. I didn't feel good so I went to the doctor, the usual turn of events that would land me into a doctors office exam room. She reluctantly checked my heart and lungs, then told me she would order a chest X-ray even though she was sure nothing was 'actually' wrong with me. I tried talking to her about my past medical history and she seemed like she could've cared less and just wanted me out of her exam room as quickly as possible. Before I left, I asked if I could set up a follow up with my normal primary (who was unable to see me yesterday) and she told me that I didn't need a follow up appointment because nothing was wrong. I left the appointment in shock and in tears that those turn of events had even happened, but also completely upset and feeling stupid for even going to the doctors in the first place.

She seamed very rushed like she didn't want to talk to me. As I was trying to explain my issues she was like well do you want a knee replacement and she keep saying well I don't know what you want me to do. I was like can't you do a CT scan or MRI. Then she kind of examined me but acted like she didn't believe what I was telling her and she told me she wasn't just going to give me pain medication and you need to keep seeing the same doctor. She went to go talk to Dr. Rohl. When she came back she told me to go to physical therapy and can a prescription for gabapentine and told me to see Dr. Rohl in 6 weeks. I have never had a doctor treat me so bad and i will never see her again.

Seemed very young and inexperienced. Nervous. Nice enough, but not a doctor I would want to see for anything serious.

This was my first experience with this care provider. She seemed a little abrupt. Once saying she had spent enough time listening to me. She did order blood work, but did not say to schedule a follow-up appointment. Actually I would prefer a care provider that is friendlier.

excellent

I thought Dr. Riggs was especially on top of things. She offered sound advice regarding my chest cold / sinus infection and helped with other prescriptions related to insurance changes, etc.

I have already told a few friends and family members about how much I appreciated the care of Dr. Riggs!
