In-patient Dialysis at Troy, Towanda and Cortland

Help Bring Lifesaving Dialysis Care to Guthrie Cortland Medical Center

At Guthrie Cortland Medical Center, we are committed to providing exceptional care to our community, but we need your help to address a critical gap. Right now, our ICU lacks in-house dialysis units, forcing critically ill patients with kidney failure or acute kidney injury to be transferred to hospitals hours away. These delays in care can jeopardize patient outcomes, strain overburdened healthcare systems, and, in some cases, leave patients without timely access to the care they desperately need.

For patients in rural areas like ours, where weather, distance, and limited transport options create additional barriers, having dialysis on-site isn’t a luxury—it’s a lifeline. Currently, 100% of emergency dialysis patients in Cortland County must leave the community for care. With dialysis machines in our ICU, we could stabilize patients in real time, eliminating dangerous delays and costly transfers.

Your support can make this vision a reality. By helping us bring dialysis capabilities to Guthrie Cortland, you’ll be investing in health equity for our rural neighbors—many of whom are older, sicker, and less financially secure than those in urban areas. Together, we can ensure that every patient, regardless of their zip code, has access to the high-quality care they deserve. Join us in making a difference.

Your generosity could save lives.
