Guthrie Cortland Medical Center

THE GUTHRIE CLINIC’S AMBITION IS TO BECOME THE MOST TRUSTED PARTNER FOR HEALTHY LOCAL COMMUNITIES. For our neighbors in the Cortland region, we are investing in major upgrades that will give them access to the highest standard of care, close to home.
| THE NEED |
|---|
|
When Guthrie Cortland Medical Center joined us over six years ago, we promised to invest in its facilities and technology to bring the best care to the people it serves. Most recently, thanks to the generosity of lead donor Nicholas Renzi, a new 32,000-square-foot health campus started offering primary care, lab, and imaging services. But this work is just beginning. Now, we must outfit the space to house multiple specialty care teams in one convenient location. We also will transform the Cortland Emergency Department (ED) to provide a more seamless, technologically advanced, and patient-centered experience for all community members facing medical emergencies. |
| YOUR IMPACT |

You can join us in this effort to transform health care in the Cortland region. You will help create an Emergency Department that gives people the best possible experience at a time of stress and uncertainty. You’ll also ensure that many thousands of people can access the specialists they need in one modern, centralized health campus. This is a new day for health care in Cortland—and you’re an essential part of it. BY SUPPORTING HERE. FOR GOOD., Guthrie's comprehensive campaign, you will ensure that The Guthrie Clinic can lead the way for rural health care. Through this ambitious effort, Guthrie aims to become our region's most trusted partner for healthy local communities, as well as a national model for what rural health can be. |
The Guthrie Cortland Renzi Health Campus
This stunning new health center is already home to imaging, lab, walk-in, and primary care services. Now we will bring 30 care providers from various medical specialties to this facility. These services will include orthopedics, general surgery, plastic surgery, obstetrics and gynecology, and pain management. Just imagine how much easier it will be for you and your family, neighbors, and friends to take care of medical needs in one place—in offices equipped with the newest equipment and technology.
The Renzi Health Campus will also feature a telemedicine hub that allows patients to connect virtually with Guthrie experts from across the health care system. This is a key part of our vision to use technology to transform rural health care, bringing a wider array of services to patients wherever they are.
Emergency Department Renovation
Work is already under way to renovate the ED to better serve the people of the Cortland region in a modern, welcoming, patient-centered environment. Your support will be critical in realizing the vision for this landmark project, which will touch the lives of nearly 30,000 people who turn to our ED each year.
The plans include:
- A redesigned ambulance bay with a permanent decontamination area
- 23 private patient rooms (versus the current 14)
- A reconfigured waiting room and “nurse first” triage process, which will improve flow and reduce wait times
- A behavioral health space with three new patient rooms, a meeting area, and separate nurses station—designed as a calm, healing unit for adult and pediatric patients
- Advanced equipment and technology for diagnosis and treatment
