Expanding and Improving Care for the Troy Region

With your support, we will expand Guthrie Troy’s footprint to meet the ever-growing demand for outpatient services, while also advancing our technology to take full advantage of the Guthrie Pulse Center’s capabilities.

THE NEED

As a federally designated Critical Access Hospital and Level IV trauma center, Guthrie Troy is an essential resource for this community. Without it, many of our neighbors simply couldn’t access the care they need. Our 11-year-old facility is often praised for its calming, healing environment. We’re proud of that—and grateful to the donors who helped build it.

Today, demand for key services, such as breast imaging and physical therapy, is outpacing our current space. And we’ve only just begun to tap into the virtual capabilities of the Guthrie Pulse Center in Big Flats, which gives our inpatients and care teams access to more nursing support and clinical expertise.

YOUR IMPACT
You can help continue the legacy that started with Troy Hospital’s founding back in 1955. Your support for Here. For Good. The Campaign for Guthrie will ensure that you, your family, and your neighbors have quick and convenient access to key outpatient services that are essential to diagnosis, recovery, and good health. You also can help provide the technology the hospital needs to take full advantage of the Pulse Center and telehealth consults with experts throughout The Guthrie Clinic. The future of rural health care is right here at Guthrie Troy.

By supporting Here. For Good, Guthrie’s comprehensive campaign, you will ensure that The Guthrie Clinic can lead the way for rural health care. Through this ambitious effort, Guthrie aims to become our region’s most trusted partner for healthy local communities, as well as a national model for what rural health can be.

Helping More People Get the Care They Need

Breast cancer screenings save lives. Guthrie Troy has the latest 3D mammography technology, but we don’t offer follow-up ultrasounds and breast MRIs for suspicious findings. Waiting to get an appointment elsewhere is inconvenient and anxiety-inducing. By helping to bring these capabilities to Troy, and add more space and staff, you will improve access to breast imaging for this community.

You also can help us expand space for physical and occupational therapy, cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation, pre-surgical cardiac screening, and sleep studies. These areas are routinely at full capacity, forcing many patients to deal with weeks-long waits or seek help elsewhere. By adding on to the hospital, we can meet the demand right here.

Harnessing the Power of the Guthrie Pulse Center

As a virtual “command center,” the Pulse Center is already improving bed management and patient flow. In addition, all 26 inpatient rooms and seven Emergency Department bays are equipped with two-way Artisight cameras. Telesitters monitor patients to prevent falls, while remote nurses give critical support to bedside care teams.

The next step is to add a digital whiteboard to every room so that each patient’s status, vital signs, and treatment history are visible to Pulse Center staff and monitored by artificial intelligence that can detect changes early and alert our teams. These whiteboards also facilitate live video assistance from Pulse Center nurses and consults with experts from across Guthrie, right in the patient’s room. Your support will enable us to make this huge leap forward so we can provide the most advanced, technology-enabled care—right here at Troy.

Making a Difference

"It is so critical for us to offer high-level care here, as the closest hospitals are 45 minutes away.
Guthrie Troy is about local doctors taking care of the local community. That culture and closeness
really matter to people. At the same time, technology can give our care teams and our patients the extra support they need.”
