Greeting from Associate Vice President Medical Education
“Medical education does not exist to provide students with a way of making a living, but to ensure the health of the community.”
Welcome to Guthrie’s Medical Education Department. Guthrie has a strong tradition of providing medical education which started in 1910 when the School of Nursing was founded. Guthrie recognizes that education is the foundation of a healthy community. Our institution provides a diverse patient population, dedicated faculty and preceptors, and excellent clinical departments to support the achievement of your educational goals. The Medical Education Office at Guthrie now serves a wide variety of learners that includes high school observer/shadowers, allied health students, nurses, and post-graduate physicians and pharmacists.
Guthrie’s medical education department supports approximately 1,500 students annually as they pursue their educational and training goals. We have cultivated agreements with over 240 educational affiliates and offer a wide range of observation and clinical experiences for students rotating at Guthrie.
