Guthrie Medical Group is seeking an experienced, clinically engaged Physician Medical Director of Wound Care and Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy to provide physician leadership and strategic direction for our comprehensive wound care and hyperbaric medicine program in Pennsylvania.

This is an opportunity for a physician who wants to combine meaningful clinical practice with program leadership. The Medical Director will help shape clinical standards, advance multidisciplinary care, develop referral relationships, mentor providers, and drive continued growth of wound care and hyperbaric services across the region.

Highlights of the Opportunity

• Serve as the physician leader and clinical authority for Guthrie's wound care and hyperbaric oxygen therapy program
• Combine direct patient care with meaningful physician leadership and program development responsibilities
• Evaluate and manage patients with acute, chronic, complex, and non-healing wounds, including diabetic foot ulcers, pressure injuries, venous and arterial wounds, surgical wounds, traumatic wounds, and radiation tissue injury
• Provide physician oversight of hyperbaric oxygen therapy, including patient selection, treatment protocols, medical supervision, safety, emergency preparedness, and quality assurance
• Lead the development and maintenance of evidence-based clinical standards, treatment pathways, policies, and protocols
• Collaborate closely with vascular surgery, podiatry, infectious disease, orthopedics, endocrinology, primary care, nursing, hyperbaric technicians, and other specialties in the management of complex patients
• Participate in multidisciplinary case review and coordinated care for patients requiring advanced wound management
• Use clinical outcomes, quality measures, patient experience, and utilization data to identify opportunities for improvement and program development
• Help expand awareness and appropriate utilization of wound care and hyperbaric services throughout Guthrie's service area
• Develop strong referral relationships with physicians, hospitals, surgeons, specialists, and community providers
• Recruit, mentor, educate, and support physicians and advanced practice providers participating in the wound care program
• Play an active role in quality improvement, patient safety, credentialing, privileging, peer review, and regulatory readiness

Candidate Requirements

• MD or DO from an accredited medical school
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in an appropriate specialty such as Surgery, Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Emergency Medicine, or another relevant specialty
• Current or eligible for Pennsylvania medical licensure
• Eligible for Guthrie medical staff appointment and appropriate clinical privileges
• Demonstrated experience in the evaluation and management of complex wounds
• Experience with or formal training in hyperbaric oxygen therapy strongly preferred
• Medical Director, program leadership, department leadership, or comparable physician leadership experience preferred
• Formal wound care training or fellowship experience preferred
• Hyperbaric medicine training and/or certification preferred
• Experience with diabetic limb salvage and multidisciplinary wound management is highly desirable
• Knowledge of advanced wound care modalities and evidence-based treatment protocols
• Strong physician leadership, communication, collaboration, and relationship-building skills
• Commitment to quality, patient safety, appropriate utilization, and continuous improvement
