Gastroenterology Hospitalist | 7 On/7 Off | Binghamton, NY

Guthrie is seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible Gastroenterologist to join Guthrie Lourdes Hospital as a GI Hospitalist in Binghamton, New York. Built around a predictable 7-on/7-off schedule, this position offers a focused inpatient practice, continuity throughout each service block, and a full week away from scheduled service between rotations. You will provide inpatient consultative care and hospital-based endoscopy while partnering with an established Gastroenterology team and multidisciplinary colleagues across Guthrie's integrated, physician-led system.

Predictable schedule: Seven consecutive days of scheduled service followed by seven consecutive days away from scheduled service.

Highlights of the Position

  • Practice in a dedicated, hospital-based GI role at Guthrie Lourdes Hospital.
  • Work a predictable 7-on/7-off schedule with clearly defined service blocks and a full week between rotations.
  • Evaluate and manage inpatient Gastroenterology consultations, provide follow-up care, and perform clinically indicated endoscopic procedures.
  • Collaborate closely with Hospital Medicine, Emergency Medicine, Surgery, Anesthesia, nursing, care management, and outpatient Gastroenterology colleagues.
  • Access modern endoscopy services, hospital-based resources, and coordinated specialty support.
  • Serve patients from Greater Binghamton and communities across New York's Southern Tier through a strong regional referral network.
  • Help advance inpatient GI quality, service development, and clinical collaboration as Lourdes continues to grow within Guthrie.

Candidate Requirements

  • MD or DO with completion of an accredited Gastroenterology fellowship.
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Gastroenterology.
  • Eligible for or holding an active New York medical license.
  • Strong clinical skills in inpatient consultative Gastroenterology and general endoscopic procedures.
  • ERCP and/or EUS training is welcome but not required.
  • Commitment to patient-centered care, clinical quality, teamwork, and professional collaboration.
  • Clear communication and the ability to build strong working relationships across hospital-based care teams.
