Guthrie is excited to announce our new Surgical Technician partnership programs through Mohawk Valley Community College and Lackawanna College! Receive an associate degree, in addition to all books and tuition paid for by Guthrie. Limited sponsored spaces will be available for the August 2025 classes, and we are currently accepting applications. If you are currently not a Surgical Technician and looking to advance your career in health care, this is the program for you!
If you are selected and successfully complete the Surgical Technician program, you will also receive a full-time Surg Tech position at a Guthrie location of your choice in either Pennsylvania or New York.
Details of the program:
- Classes begin in August 2025
- Two-year program
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- MVCC: Clinicals are held at Guthrie Lourdes Hospital in Binghamton, N.Y.
- Lackawanna College: Clinicals are held at Guthrie Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, Pa.
- Limited spots available
- Salary, while employed at Guthrie in a per diem role in the Surg Tech program: $16.00 per hour
- Salary after candidates become full-time Guthrie Surgical Technicians: $24.50 - $38.23 per hour
- Participants must make a per diem commitment as an Operating Room Technician, while taking classes, as well as a three-year commitment post-graduation as a Guthrie Surgical Technician
- Participants must also meet all college partner academic requirements
