In fact, your support of Cortland Memorial Foundation directly benefits the patients who come through our doors.  From July 2025 through March 2026 alone, Guthrie Cortland Medical Center cared for 20,424 emergency department visitors, supported 3,051 hospital admissions, and welcomed 280 newborns into our community.  In addition, Guthrie Cortland Medical Center earned a Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade of “A”, demonstrating continued progress and a strong commitment to providing the safest possible care for our patients.

Your gift also helps ensure that Guthrie Cortland Medical Center can continue to make meaningful investments in the future, advancing technology, improving facilities, attracting expert providers and expanded services so high-quality care remains available close to home.

Guthrie Cortland Medical Center has much to celebrate this year. Here are just a few important highlights made possible through community support:

  • Completion of Phase 3 of the Emergency Department Renovation, including enhanced patient flow and new mental health care spaces
  • Installation of a new Nuclear Medicine SPECT-CT camera, expanding advanced diagnostic capabilities
  • Approval of a Surgical Services Expansion Project to increase access and reduce wait times
  • Continued recruitment of new physicians, advanced practice providers and nurses to expand access to care
  • Increased access to preventative care services, including mammograms and prostate cancer screenings, helping detect disease earlier and improve outcomes
  • Ongoing investments in patient, staff and visitor safety through facility upgrades and enhanced security
