Lourdes Outage Information

Guthrie Lourdes has been experiencing network and system disruptions since Wednesday, May 8 when a cyber event impacted Ascension, its former parent organization. Guthrie Information Technology severed Lourdes connections with the affected Ascension systems, and no other Guthrie facilities have been impacted by this event.

Lourdes Hospital and clinics are open and caring for patients. The Lourdes Hospital Emergency Room is open and will never turn away patients seeking care. Our team is focused on providing uninterrupted, high-quality care and service even as they work to establish alternative processes during this disruption.

Although Lourdes became part of The Guthrie Clinic in February, the hospital and associated clinics maintained some temporary linkages to the Ascension network while a permanent and organized migration to Guthrie systems can be phased in. This cyber event took place before a full transition could be completed.

Guthrie Information Technology became aware that some Ascension applications were not responding as expected. Out of an abundance of caution, Guthrie severed connections with these Ascension systems.

Has patient health information been compromised?

Guthrie is working with Ascension to understand the scope of the event they’ve experienced and its impact on our patient information. We are fully committed to serving our patients and minimizing care delays as we navigate what this interruption to Ascension systems means, and our priorities remain to ensure the highest levels of quality and patient safety. If Ascension determines that sensitive data was potentially access as part of this incident, they will notify Guthrie and impacted patients.
