Sayre, PA – The Post-Concussion support group for athletes and their families will hold its next meeting on Sunday, January 8, 2012. The group offers support to athletes, and their families, who are dealing with sports related Post-Concussion Syndrome and those who have been forced to stop playing sports or working because of repeated concussions.
Guthrie Sports Medicine Athletic Trainer Steve Hicks is hosting the meeting, which will be held at 2:00 p.m. in the Guthrie Clinic Family Medicine Conference Room, located on the first floor of Guthrie’s Sayre campus. Courtney Brown, an Athens Area High School graduate and former cheerleader, will be the guest speaker for this meeting. Ms. Brown will talk about her cheerleading injury that caused her current 5-year struggle with Post-Concussion Syndrome and Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI).
