Join Guthrie “Walk with a Doc” in Ithaca To Walk to A Healthier Life

Sayre, Pa. – Guthrie is launching a “Walk with a Doc” program in Ithaca, N.Y. on May 11 at 9:30 a.m. and on eight Saturdays this summer. Residents of the Ithaca area are invited to “Walk with a Doc” in Cass Park to help them create a healthy lifestyle.

Guthrie Ithaca Office providers will meet with walkers at 9:30 a.m. in Cass Park at 701 Taughannock Blvd. for a 30-minute walk to encourage being active.  The dates for Guthrie’s “Walk with a Doc” are:

• May 11 and 18
• June 1, 15, and 29
• July 27
• August 10 and 24

All walks will begin at 9:30 a.m. and water and refreshments will be available. The public is invited to participate in one walk, or the entire series. According to the American Heart Association, walking is one of the best physical activities a person can do. It reduces the risk of heart disease, improves blood pressure and helps control weight.

“Walk with a Doc” is a free, non-profit program for anyone interested in taking steps for their health. Bring friends and loved ones or come alone, and enjoy a refreshing, rejuvenating walk in the park. The “Walk with a Doc” program is active in over 95 communities nationwide.
