Sayre, PA- Guthrie's HealthWorks Wellness & Fitness Center in Painted Post, N.Y., received certification of its cardiac rehabilitation service from the American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation. The AACVPR certification is given to facilities that meet national standards for quality patient care; it is the only organization that offers a program certification for cardiac rehab facilities. The certification is valid for three years.
"The process of certification helped us assess the quality and scope of the care we provide, as well as strengthened our continued commitment to our patients," said Lisa Stoddard, RN, BSN, Cardiac Rehab Coordinator. "This process would not have been successful without the continued support and dedication of our entire cardiac rehab team."
HealthWorks staff RNs Lorrie Healy, Jeanne Hughes, Virginia Ravenscroft and Stoddard spearheaded the certification effort, meticulously researching and compiling data that documented aspects of the service including policies and procedures; staff competencies; individualized care plans; outcome assessments; and exercise prescriptions. The information was submitted on Dec. 1, 2008. The service was notified of its certification on Aug. 31.
