Sayre, Pa. – William Ward, MD, has joined Guthrie as the Chief of Musculoskeletal Services.
Dr. Ward is a former President of the North American Musculoskeletal Tumor Society and he has performed over 5000 musculoskeletal tumor-related surgeries and over 2000 joint replacements. Dr. Ward comes to Guthrie from Wake Forest Baptist Health in Winston-Salem, N.C. where Dr. Ward was a Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery with Wake Forest University Health Sciences and the Medical Director of Orthopaedic Oncology and Adult Reconstruction.
Dr. Ward is certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and is also Fellowship trained in both sports medicine (Cleveland Clinic) and orthopaedic oncology (UCLA). His specialty interests include musculoskeletal oncology, hip & knee reconstruction, and limb preservation surgery.
Dr. Ward attended Duke University School of Medicine in Durham, N.C., where he did his residency in orthopaedic surgery.
Guthrie’s Musculoskeletal services include surgical and medical treatment for the full range of conditions related to bones, joints and muscles including the hand, elbow, wrist, shoulder, hip and knee.
