Guthrie Seeking Qualified Massage Therapists for Special Program

Guthrie Towanda Memorial Hospital is seeking licensed massage therapists and nurses to take part in a special Mother’s Day event for first time mothers enrolled in the hospital’s Nurse-Family Partnership program. Volunteers will be able to earn six free continuing education hours.

The training event will be held on Wednesday, May 20 from 12:30 – 6:30 p.m. at Northeast Bodyworks on Bridge St in Towanda. It will include three hours of hands on massage therapy training on mini-spa treatments, followed by three hours of practicing those treatments as part of a special treat Mother’s Day treat for first time mothers enrolled in the Nurse-Family Partnership at Guthrie Towanda Memorial Hospital.

This course is being presented by Fireflies Massage Seminars. Fireflies Massage Seminars provides hands on massage therapy training combined with community service projects. By volunteering their time, the massage therapists will be eligible for six free continuing education hours approved by the NCBTMB. This course is approved for licensed massage therapists from both Pennsylvania and New York. Registered nurses are also invited to participate although no continuing education hours are available for this course.
