Guthrie is proud to congratulate David A. Talenti, MD on his recent appointment as the chair of the Board of Trustees at the Pennsylvania Medical Society. Dr. Talenti, a gastroenterologist at Guthrie, was elected by his peers to serve as the board chair as well as continue in the position of 12th District Trustee, representing physicians from Bradford, Luzerne, Sullivan, Susquehanna, and Wyoming counties.
Based in Harrisburg, the Pennsylvania Medical Society represents 17,000 physicians, medical students, and practice administrators across the state. In the past year, the organization successfully lobbied the state to address several state-related issues including Pennsylvania’s prescription drug abuse crisis.
An 11-year member of the Pennsylvania Medical Society, Dr. Talenti has held several positions with the statewide organization. Most recently, he served as the board’s vice chair. He has also been the chair of the organization’s specialty leadership cabinet.
In addition to holding a membership in the Pennsylvania Medical Society, he is also a member of the Bradford County Medical Society and the American Medical Association.
Dr. Talenti works at Guthrie Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, Pa. and at Guthrie Same Day Surgery in Big Flats. N.Y. He resides with his family in Sayre.
