Sayre, Pa. – Today, Guthrie cut the ribbon on a new 12,000 square foot facility in Owego to serve the medical needs of Tioga County residents.
The $3.2 million project includes 18 exam rooms, 2 treatment rooms and lab and imaging services. One of the treatment rooms has two chemotherapy infusion chairs to allow patients to stay closer to home for daily treatments. On-site services include lab, x-ray and mammography. The larger, more modern facility on 22 acres will make it possible for additional specialists to hold office hours in Owego.
Specialty services that will hold office hours in the new office include oncology, orthopedics, pediatric dermatology and cardiology.
Guthrie President and CEO Joseph Scopelliti, MD, said, “This new facility will bring enhanced medical care to the people in Tioga County. Guthrie is committed to improving access to specialty services throughout our region and offices like Owego are an important part of that commitment.”
The Guthrie Owego office sees 11,000 patient visits a year.
The ribbon cutting was followed by an open house for the public to tour the facility, meet with staff and learn about various Guthrie services.
