Sayre, Pa. – Guthrie Weight Loss Center will present a free seminar on healthy eating and nutrition, Thursday, March 27 from 6-8 p.m. in the Patterson Auditorium on the Guthrie Sayre campus. The class is open to all community members and will be presented by Registered Dietitian Adrienne Bragg, Certified Health Fitness Specialist Jessica Callear and Guthrie Weight Loss Center Program Director Mary Hutz, RN.
The interactive seminar will focus on making healthier food choices. At the end of the session, participants will be able to:
- Name the “big 3” macronutrients found in food
- Read and use food labels to compare nutritional contents of similar foods and beverages
- Identify the 5 basic food groups and provide examples of each
- Describe at least 2 healthy changes they can make to support a lifestyle incorporating better nutrition
