Guthrie to Offer Free Vascular Screenings

Sayre, Pa. – The Guthrie Cardiac and Vascular Center offers free vascular screenings for individuals found to be at moderately-high or very-high risk for cardiac and vascular disease through Guthrie’s Know Your Heart Age quiz. Screenings are limited.

Know Your Heart Age is an online survey that compares your actual age to your heart's biological age, calculates your risk of developing cardiac and vascular disease and prioritizes your most harmful cardiac and vascular risk factors. Guthrie encourages community members to take the Know Your Heart Age quiz, found at

Quiz participants identified as moderately-high to very-high risk are invited to participate in a free screening, which will consist of a non-invasive ultrasound of the carotid arteries and an evaluation of leg circulation.

Complimentary screenings for those at risk are available on the following dates: · Saturday, March 8 from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. at the Guthrie Sayre office, One Guthrie Square in Sayre, Pa. · Saturday, March 22 from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. at the Guthrie Big Flats office, 31 Arnot Road in Horseheads, N.Y. · Saturday, April 5 from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. at the Guthrie Sayre office, One Guthrie Square in Sayre, Pa.

A fellowship-trained, board-certified Guthrie vascular surgeon will review test results with participants upon completion of each screening.
