Sayre, Pa. — Guthrie will offer a series of free educational seminars about MAKOplasty®, a robotic arm-assisted, surgeon-guided partial knee replacement.
MAKOplasty® is designed to relieve the pain caused by joint degeneration due to osteoarthritis (OA) and selectively replaces only the part of the knee damaged by OA. The knee is resurfaced while the healthy bone and ligaments surrounding it are spared. This procedure results in a more rapid recovery and shorter hospital stay than traditional knee replacement surgery. Guthrie is the only health care facility in the Twin Tiers to offer MAKOplasty®.
The free upcoming seminars are scheduled as follows:
- Thursday, March 27 at 5:30 p.m., Guthrie Orthopaedics, 10 Brentwood Drive, Suite B, Ithaca, N.Y.
- Thursday, April 3 at 5:30 p.m., Traditions on the Glen, 4101 Watson Blvd., Johnson City, N.Y.
- Tuesday, April 22 at 5:30 p.m., Hilton Garden Inn, 35 Arnot Road, Horseheads, N.Y.
- Thursday, May 15 at 5:30 p.m., Corning Country Club, 2501 Country Club Drive, Corning, N.Y.
