Guthrie Hospice to Offer Bereavement Support Group

Sayre, Pa. – Guthrie Hospice will offer a free, five-week Community Bereavement Support Group on  Monday evenings, Sept. 23 to Oct. 21. The meetings will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in the 2 North Conference Room at Guthrie Robert Packer Hospital located at One Guthrie Square in Sayre, Pa.

The group will be facilitated by Rev. Jeffrey Wilkinson, Guthrie Chaplain and Bereavement Coordinator, and Karen Robinson, Guthrie Hospice Social Worker. Pertinent topics will include the grieving process, coping skills and communication, and stress management. The Community Bereavement Support Group is an outreach community service sponsored by Guthrie Hospice that is intended for anyone who has experienced a loss.

The phases of grief are universal; the way each person passes through each phase is different. By attending the Community Bereavement Support Group, participants will find support from others who have suffered a loss and will know that they are not alone in the grieving process. Please call Guthrie Hospice at 1-800-598-6155 to register or for assistance with questions about grief or the Bereavement Support Group.
