Guthrie first in the region to offer patients electronic access to health information

Sayre, PA – Guthrie Health is launching two new electronic portals for safe and secure access to important patient information.

The first, called “eGuthrie,” offers patients a way to view online – from work, from home, from on the road – a host of information about their health. Once patients register online and receive their unique password, they can access test results, request a prescription refill, check vaccination records, request an appointment, trend laboratory results or other diagnostic tests over time – even to send an email message to their physician.

This important tool helps patients participate in their own care and empowers them to be knowledgeable about the health issues that impact them. Using eGuthrie will connect Guthrie patients to their family physician, as well as most Guthrie specialists and sub-specialists. Patients can register on line by visiting

The other exciting new secure electronic method of sharing patient information, called “Care Everywhere,” links all Guthrie providers using Epic as its electronic health record platform with other providers that also use Epic. An Epic application, “Care Everywhere” connects Guthrie physicians and providers to those at other notable institutions that use Epic platforms, such as the Cleveland Clinic and Kaiser Permanente – Colorado. This functionality gives other health care providers who are taking care of Guthrie patients the ability to immediately access vital information from their Guthrie health record. In the same town or across state lines and national borders – the clinicians providing care have access to the information they need.

Patients are invited to use a toll free telephone number 1-855-eGuthrie (1-855-348-8474), which connects them with customer service for eGuthrie. To register online, go to, click on the eGuthrie banner, which directs users to the eGuthrie home page. Once patients sign up as new users, they will be mailed an access code for privacy purposes within five days.
