Guthrie Corning Hospital Welcomes New Chief Medical Officer

Corning, NY. – Guthrie Corning Hospital welcomes D. Brent Treichler, MD, FACEP as the new Chief Medical Officer.

Dr. Treichler comes to Guthrie from the Parkland Health and Hospital System in Dallas, Texas, where he was Chief of Emergency Services. He earned his medical degree from Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, Virginia and did both his internship and residency with the University of Texas Southwestern in Dallas. Dr. Treichler has a master’s in business administration for health care management executives. 

The Chief Medical Officer’s position provides leadership for all quality assessment and quality improvement efforts throughout Guthrie Corning Hospital, to ensure that the highest standards of quality and service are maintained. Dr. Treichler will also oversee the efforts designed to improve clinical performance and maintain compliance with JCAHO, HIPAA, and other accreditation standards.  His position with Guthrie Corning Hospital began on July 1.
