Guthrie Cancer Center Offers Living Beyond Cancer Series

Sayre, Pa. – Guthrie Cancer Center is holding an educational series on survivorship for cancer survivors and their loved ones. The next in the series of seminars will be on Tuesday, May 7 on the topic of “Nutrition After Cancer Treatment”. Information will be presented by Katharine Ward Freed, MS, RD, LDN, CDE.

The session will take place from 2:30 – 3:30 p.m. in the Blue Conference Room on the 4th floor of the Guthrie Clinic building on the Sayre campus.

Guthrie Cancer Center Medical Social Worker Dawn Clover, LCSW says, “Cancer survivorship is defined as anyone who has been diagnosed with cancer. This program is designed to provide the survivor with knowledge of the long term side effects of treatment, as well as the tools to enhance their physical and psychological well-being.”

• June 4 - Cognitive Restoration "Chemo Brain" and Swallowing Issues – Presented by Dawn Sharpe, SLP, CCC
• July 2- Moving Forward - Psychological Concerns – Presented by Yalitza Marrero, LPC
