Sayre, Pa. – Guthrie is proud to announce the recent arrival of the following new providers:
Shing Chin, MD, PhD, is a radiation oncologist now working on the Sayre campus. He comes to Guthrie from Flushing Radiation Oncology in Flushing, NY. Dr. Chin also spent time with the VA hospital in Boston and Lourdes Hospital in Binghamton, NY. His medical degree is from Beijing Medical University in China and he did his radiation oncology residency with the Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla, NY. He is board certified by the American Board of Radiology.
Gizatchew Ketsela, MD has joined the Guthrie Clinic staff in Sayre as an infectious disease specialist. He was formerly with the Infection Prevention Treatment Center in Gainesville, Florida and worked as a hospitalist for Kaiser Permanente in San Diego. Dr. Ketsela’s medical degree is from Addis Ababa University in Ethiopia. His residency took place at New York Medical College at Our lady of Mercy Medical Center. He is board certified in both internal medicine and infectious diseases.
Derrick Hoover, MD is a family medicine physician with the Guthrie clinic in Troy. He was a clinical instructor in the family medicine department of Michigan State University’s College of Human Medicine before joining Guthrie. Dr. Hoover received his medical degree from Kasturba Medical College in India and did his residency at the Genesys Regional Medical Center in Grand Blanc, Mich.
Henry Cook, MD is a hospitalist with Guthrie Corning Hospital. He comes to Guthrie from Chenango Memorial Hospital in Norwich, NY. Dr. Cook earned his medical degree from the Medical University of South Carolina at Charleston, where he also did his residency at the MUSC Medical Center.
Robert Meikle, MD is a family medicine physician who has joined the staff of the Guthrie Athens Clinic. For the last 12 years he was with the Lawrence and Memorial Physician Association in Uncasville, Connecticut. Dr. Meikle is a graduate of West Point and a veteran of Operation Desert Shield/Desert Storm. He attended Jefferson Medical College and did his residency with the Eisenhower Army Medical Center in Ft. Gordon, Ga.
Ming Yang, MD, is a radiologist in Sayre. He comes to Guthrie from Mid-Ohio Radiology, LLC. Dr. Yang was also a research scientist with The Ohio State University. His medical degree is from Shandong Medical University in China, where he also did his residency with the department of radiology of Beijing Hospital. He is certified by the American Board of Radiology.
Ravi Agrawal, MD, has joined Guthrie Robert Packer Hospital as a hospitalist. He was an Assistant Professor of Otolaryngology at Chitwan Medical College and a private physician both in Bharatpur. Dr. Agrawal did two residencies, one in otolaryngology in Nepal and one in internal medicine with Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn. New York.
Marvin Singh, MD, is a gastroenterologist in Corning. He comes to Guthrie from Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland where he was an assistant professor of medicine and the associate director of the division of gastroenterology at Howard County. He earned his medical degree from the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine and did an internal medicine residency with the University of Michigan Hospital. He is board certified in both internal medicine and gastroenterology/hepatology.
Mary Yia, MD, is working at the new Guthrie Owego office as a family medicine physician. Her medical degree is from the University of the East Ramon Magsaysay Memorial Medical Center in the Philippines. She did a residency with the family medicine program of the Wyckoff Heights Medical Center in New York. She is board certified in family medicine.
Joseph Sutcliffe III, MD, has joined Guthrie Corning Hospital as a radiologist. His recent work includes being a faculty instructor in the diagnostic radiology residency program with the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. In his final active duty position with the United States Army, he served as chairman of the radiology department for Brooke Army Medical Center at Fort Sam Houston, Texas. Dr. Sutcliffe’s medical degree is from the University of South Carolina and his residency was with the San Antonio Uniformed Services Health Education Consortium. He is board certified in diagnostic radiology.
Anumeha Kohli, MD, is an internal medicine physician in the Guthrie Towanda Clinic. Her medical degree comes from the Government Medical College, South Gujarat University, India. She did a residency in radiology in the New Civil Hospital in Gujarat, India and a residency in internal medicine at Mount Sinai in the Bronx, NY.
Sukirti Bista, MD, has joined the Guthrie Towanda Clinic as a pediatrician. Her medical degree is from the Nepal Medical College Teaching Hospital in Kathmandu, Nepal. She worked in the emergency department of Star Hospital in Nepal and in the Center for Travel Medicine in the Nepal International Clinic. She completed a pediatric residency at SUNY Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY.
Tchaiko Parris, MD, has joined the radiology staff in Sayre. She earned both a medical degree and a Ph.D. from Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Dr. Parris did a radiology residency with Norwalk Hospital in Norwalk, Connecticut. She is board certified in radiology.
Michael Chen, MD, has joined the radiology staff in Sayre. His medical degree is from Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia. He did a residency in diagnostic radiology at Albert Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia. Dr. Chen is board certified in radiology.
