Corning, N.Y. - The Fit and Strong Together Community Coalition (FAST) in Corning, N.Y., invites area residents to participate in one of five free wellness testing opportunities to be offered in the month of April as part of the “Know Your Health Numbers” initiative.
“The FAST committee is committed to helping our community to enjoy a fit and active life,” said Shirley P. Magaña, President of Guthrie Corning Hospital and Co-Chair of FAST. “Knowing your key health numbers and planning to improve them, if necessary, is the best way to start moving toward good health and a more enjoyable life.”
FAST will offer free blood pressure, body mass index (BMI), body fat percentage and total cholesterol checks, free of charge, on a first-come-first-served basis, with no advance registration required. For the most accurate total cholesterol test results, a 5-hour fast is recommended. A drop of blood will be drawn for the total cholesterol test. The public may choose to participate in any or all of these tests and results will be available immediately.
The community is invited to visit one of the following Know Your Health Numbers testing locations:
- Thursday, April 17, 4-7 p.m.; The Salvation Army located at 32 Denison Parkway East in Corning, N.Y.
