Dr. Lynn Smaha Memorial Golf Classic Raises $5,000

Sayre, Pa. – The Guthrie Heart Club had another successful outing with the 2012 Dr. Lynn Smaha Memorial Golf Classic at the Club at Shepard Hills on Monday, August 20, 2012.

The tournament is in memory of Dr. Smaha, who was president of the Guthrie Clinic at the time of his sudden death in 2006.

Eighteen foursomes and many sponsors enjoyed a nice day on the course and raised$5,000 to further assist individuals impacted by last year’s flooding. The Heart Club was generous in their support of flood victims last September and wanted to offer help to those with ongoing issues through the Mark Stensager Human Service Fund at Guthrie.

Congratulations to second time winners Jeff Kisel, Joe Tomasso, Phil Beard and Steve Nagar. Special thanks to Gold Sponsors; the Smaha Family, Dandy Mini Marts, Guthrie Air/Air Methods, Guthrie Cardiology Department, Ingersoll Rand Federal Credit Union, Owens and Minor, Waverly Pharmacy and Welliver.

Silver Sponsors were Carr Printing, First Citizens Community Bank, Guthrie Federal Credit Union and Hiller Albert Design Group.

Bronze Sponsors were Bucky Bates Construction, G. Webster, Inc., Guthrie Cardiac Rehabilitation, Hale Roofing, Huckle's Body Shop, John H. Murray & Son, Landy & Kilmer Insurance, Inc., Quinlan Tree Service, Smith - Ingalls – French, Soprano's Italian Market, The Partners Insurance & Financial Services and Tioga State Bank.
