Sayre, Pa. – A comprehensive listing of clinical trials through the Guthrie Foundation for Education and Research is now available at http://www.guthrie.org/clinical-trials.
Trials are listed by diagnosis and principal physician name. Foundation Director Laura Fitzgerald said the posting of trials was done for both providers and patients. “Having this list accessible is beneficial for two reasons - first it allows patients the ability to find clinical studies within Guthrie and second it provides physicians with information regarding different treatment options for the patients they serve.”
According to Fitzgerald, the majority of trials at Guthrie are performed in oncology and cardiovascular medicine. “Guthrie Health has a commitment to producing meaningful, quality research. In line with that commitment, we continue to conduct a balance of drug, device and physician-initiated research. The overall goal of this research is to enhance scientific knowledge and provide improvements in care to the community.”
Patients do not have to be under the care of a Guthrie physician to learn more regarding a clinical trial based in the Guthrie system. For more information contact the Foundation at 1-800-836-0388.
