Sayre, Pa. – The 5th Annual Sayre Turkey Trot 5K will take place on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, Nov. 24 at 10 a.m.
For more information and to register visit, www.sayreturkeytrot.com. This year PaRunners will be the official timers of the event, using disposable chips. The first 450 entrants will receive a two-tone knit beanie. Early entrance is $20, race day registration is $25 from 8 – 9:30 a.m. at the Sayre Theater.
There will be awards for overall male and female 5K runners and age group awards, overall male and female 5K walkers and for the first time, Master’s male and female 5K runners’ awards. There will also be age group awards for male and female runners.
There will also be a free Kids’ Fun Run at 9:30 a.m. for those ages ten and under. Kids should bring a non-perishable food item, travel-sized toiletry, household paper product, or laundry soap to donate to the Sayre House of Hope. The first 50 kids in the fun will receive a gift.
The proceeds from the race will used by the Robert Packer Hospital/Guthrie Auxiliary to benefit various hospital projects.
