How does it work?
It’s as simple as telling a former co-worker or friend about nursing opportunities at Guthrie. Make sure to tell them to include your name on their application as a referrer. Then BOOM, if the candidate gets hired, you receive up to $10,000 and a chance to win exciting prizes.

Nurse Referral Point Accrual System:
  • Your name and referred nurses name entered through the form on the website: 50 points
  • Your name included on their formal application as the referrer: 50 points
  • Referred nurse interview conducted: 400 points
  • Referred nurse accepts offer: 500 points
  • Referred nurse starts work at Guthrie before November 30, 2023: 500 points
  • Total possible points per nurse referral: 1,500


Who may participate in the limited time referral bonus and prize program?


Any current employee, with respect to the restrictions listed below, may participate by referring Registered Nurses (RN), Newly Licensed Registered Nurses (NLRN) or Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN) for the system. If the candidate is hired as a regular full-time employee of .9 FTE or higher, you will receive up to a $10,000 referral bonus, including points toward additional contest prizes.  

Contest Restrictions

  • Eligible positions and referral bonus amounts are determined on a case-by-case basis. 

  • Part-time and per diem positions are not eligible for a referral bonus.   

  • Positions filled by a current employee or contingent worker (ex: traveler) converting to a regular position are not eligible for a referral bonus. 

  • Employees or contingent workers (ex: travelers) who previously worked for The Guthrie Clinic within one (1) year of the application date are not eligible for a referral bonus. 

  • All employees, except those at the Senior Leadership level, Human Resources and managers with hiring authority over the position, are eligible for a referral bonus. 

  • The referring employee’s name must be entered on the candidate's application at the time the candidate initially applies to be eligible for a referral bonus. Only one employee per candidate may receive a referral bonus.   

  • Referral bonuses are typically paid in three (3) equal lump-sum payments at ninety (90) days*, one (1) year* and two (2) years*.  Both the referring employee and the hired employee must be actively employed at the payout of the referral bonus.  The referred employee must remain in a 0.9 FTE or higher position.  

  • Referral bonuses are subject to applicable tax withholdings.   

  • Management reserves the right to discontinue this program at any time. 

What nurses qualify for the referral bonus and prize points?

Any RN, NLRN or LPN for the Guthrie System.

What is the timeframe for the enhanced RN/NLRN/LPN referral program?

The limited time referral bonus and prize entry will run from July 1, 2023 to November 30, 2023.

The candidate must submit their application during this time, with your name as the referrer in the application, for you to receive this benefit.
