Nurse Navigator Certification or previous experience preferred, although not required.

Highlights of the Position

  • Initiate communication with patients upon learning of a suspicious mammogram or positive finding
  • Assist radiologist with breast biopsies and other procedures
  • Guide patients and families through the health care system; help patients be prepared for and arrive at scheduled appointments
  • Communicates breast biopsy results to patients; arrange appropriate surgical referrals and appointments
  • Provide breast health education to patients and families

About the Facility:

Guthrie Corning Hospital, located in Corning, N.Y., opened a new 65-bed hospital and regional cancer center in 2014. The new facility provides the region emergency, ICU, labor and delivery, surgical, inpatient and outpatient services including wound care, cardiology, medical imaging and cancer care services, including:

  • 24-Hour emergency services with 24-hour laboratory, radiology and ultrasound support
  • Ambulatory surgery

  • Coronary care, cardiology stress testing and outpatient rehabilitation
