Building on a history and tradition of clinical research, Guthrie has initiated a new element in research that can be immediately applied to community-based breakthroughs in patient care and quality in outcomes. In practice at the local investigator level, this model is based on the premise that research and clinical innovation are core activities that will improve the quality of patient care and support the overall mission and goals of the health system. Guthrie conducts investigator-initiated research at Sayre, PA, and also at many of our 34 regional offices across Southern New York and Northern Pennsylvania.
Research projects initiated by Guthrie investigators will:
- Build on our clinical strengths
- Address questions that arise directly from our clinical practice
- Respond to healthcare needs of the communities we serve
- Integrate seamlessly with our educational and quality improvement activities
