Guthrie Offers Prenatal Classes

Prenatal Breastfeeding Class, first Thursday of every other month at 7:00 p.m. -- This class is designed to give you more information about breastfeeding to help you make an informed choice for you and your baby. Topics covered include the advantages of breastfeeding, how to get started, and continuing breastfeeding for working mothers. All expectant mothers and support persons are welcome. The Prenatal Breastfeeding Class takes place in Guthrie Clinic’s West Building, 4th level blue section conference room. Please pre-register for this class. Cost is $25 per couple.

 

Four-Week Childbirth Education Course -- This four-week class series is taught by experienced registered nurses and offered in three locations including Sayre and Towanda, PA, and Owego, NY. Using new and updated information, the course offers expectant parents information about fetal development and well-being, nutrition during pregnancy, delivery techniques, and information about labor and delivery to help families make educated choices for their birthing experience. The course also offers information about maternal-child care during the hospital stay and beyond. Fathers or support persons are encouraged to attend; the cost for the course is $60 per couple.
