The Guthrie Joint Camp Experience

The Joint Camp Experience Joint Camp is a personal experience - group size is limited to 10 patients and their coaches per session. We try to make each day of your stay as comfortable and homelike as possible - patients and coaches even choose their daily menu items for each meal. Joint Camp is education-intensive - our goal is to give you the knowledge and the tools to make your transition from hospital to recovery. It will take about three months for you to get back to daily activities.

Guthrie's Joint Camp maintains among the highest overall patient satisfaction scores from our hospital patients. People report being pleased by their care, treatment and recovery while participants in Joint Camp.

Here's what some Joint Camp participants had to say about their experience:

"When we arrived at the hospital the day of my husband's surgery, the hospital greeter met us and carried our suitcase all the way to the seventh floor for us. It was a wonderful touch and we appreciated it very much."

" I was delighted that I could stay in the room with my husband twenty-four hours a day - I was grateful not to have to make that long drive back and forth every day."

"Sue from physical therapy, was a great motivator - she was patient but firm with everyone, and was able to get even the most reluctant patients to do their exercises."

"The graduation dinner on the unit was SO special - what a treat to dine on fine linen and have such a pleasant young man wait on us. Of course one would never choose to be hospitalized, but I must say this was the most positive hospital experience I can think of. Thank you, Joint Camp!"
