For more than two decades, Guthrie has gone far beyond other health care organizations in the region to bring the quality medical care right to your doorstep.

Guthrie Private Care includes a wide range of traditional home health services all designed to contribute to a patient's overall well-being. A registered nurse will assess the home-care requirements of the patient, then work with the patient's physician to develop a customized treatment plan.

Special needs call for specialized services

PARAPROFESSIONAL SERVICES Home care aides, managed by professional nurse supervisors, can provide personal care, bathing, dressing and oral hygiene, as well as assistance with physical exercises, ambulation, help with activities of daily living and caretaker relief.

HOMEMAKING Trained home-care aides will assist with light housekeeping, laundry, food shopping and meal preparation.

CHRONIC CARE A long-term or recurring illness can be especially debilitating and discouraging. Guthrie Private Care nurses and specialists can provide chronically ill patients with personal care and support for as long as symptoms persist.

LIFELINE® - 'The Lifeline personal emergency response system can provide peace of mind for anyone who lives or spends time alone. At the push of a button on a small pendant that is worn or carried, Lifeline connects patients with a state-certified emergency medical technician at Guthrie Healthcare System's Robert Packer Hospital, 24 hours a day. If necessary, a local emergency squad can be dispatched for immediate, on-site help.

Private Care is just one of a number of Guthrie Home Care services, each of which combines professional skills with compassionate care. Our staff is trained to provide quality care for the ill and disabled of every age, while offering instruction and emotional support to the rest of the family.

Although Private Care services are not always covered by private pay insurance, many other Guthrie Home Care services are covered. Further, lack of coverage does not mean loss of service. We will review your insurance coverage and explore alternative funding.
