Most people, regardless of age or physical condition, want to live life independently in the comfort of home. Lifeline can give you or someone dear to you the confidence and freedom to do just that, by providing a push-button connection with 24-hour local emergency assistance.

 

Lifeline® - Home Care FAQs With Lifeline's personal emergency response system, help is just minutes away, no matter when you need it. Lifeline is perfect for active seniors who live alone, new mothers, the physically challenged, or bedridden, postoperative patients and those with heart problems or diabetes.

Lifeline also gives family members a sense of reassurance, knowing that loved ones who have it are never alone.

Emergency assistance at the push of a button

 

It's simple. Whenever you need help, just press your lightweight, waterproof help button. It activates a small home communicator attached to your phone, connecting you immediately with a state certified emergency medical technician at Guthrie's Robert Packer Hospital. He or she will talk with you to find out what kind of help you need, then call one of your friends, neighbors or relatives to come check on you at your home.

If it's an emergency, your Lifeline monitor will call for professional help - ambulance, police or fire department. And if you press your button and can't speak, don't worry. The monitor has your basic medical information at hand and will know what to do.

Lifeline handles more than emergencies
In addition to monitoring medical emergencies, Lifeline offers several nonmedical advantages:

  • VOICE UNIT lets you answer the phone just by pressing your help button and talking through the communicator speakerphone, even from across the room.

  • PERSONAL HELP BUTTON is completely waterproof, so you can wear it in the bath or shower. 

  • FAILURE PROTECTION is provided by a back-up battery which ensures that your Lifeline equipment works, even when your electricity doesn't.

Most Guthrie Home Care services are covered by Medicare, Pennsylvania Medical Assistance, Blue Cross or major medical coverage and other private insurance. However, lack of coverage or inability to pay for services does not mean loss of service. We will review your insurance coverage and explore alternative 
funding.
