Clinical trials cover such a variety of possibilities that there is no typical patient profile. In order to participate in a clinical trial you must meet the requirements of the specific trial, both from the standpoint of health and from the standpoint of willingness to commit to the schedule that the trial may require. For example, a study may need you to take a particular therapy according to a set schedule, and there may be routine evaluations that have to occur at set points in time. It is important that you think through both the potential for medical benefit as well as your ability to follow the directions and timing needed by the research team to correctly implement the trial protocol.
