Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for this program you must first be a resident of the following counties:

• New York - Broome, Chemung, Chenango, Cortland, Delaware, Schuyler, Steuban, Tompkins, or Tioga Counties

• Pennsylvania - Bradford, Lycoming, Sullivan, Tioga, Lackawanna, Susquehanna, Wayne, Wyoming, Centre, Clearfrield, Clinton, Camerson, Elk, McKean, or Potter

• Interested in a career as a physician
• Rank in the top 10% in their class
• Achieve a score of 1270 or greater on the SAT examination

• Be at least a junior in high school to begin the application process

Only students who have been accepted to Wilkes University and have completed a premedical scholars application with Wilkes University by November 15 of each year will be considered for the Guthrie Scholars Program.
