RESIDENCY
HOW TO APPLY - FAMILY MEDICINE RESIDENCY PROGRAMThank you for your
interest in Guthrie/Robert Packer Hospital as a site for your residency
training.
Our program is fully accredited by the ACGME and AOA. The
Guthrie Family Medicine Residency participates in both the AOA match through the
National Matching Service and the ACGME match through the NRMP.
We
use the ERAS (Electronic Residency Application Service) program and accept only
electronic applications. Please contact your Dean's office on how to apply.

Our selection criteria include the following:
While reviewing applications, we look for:
- Clinical experience in the U.S
- USMLE scores of 80 or above on the first attempt
- Graduation from medical school five years or less
- Three letters of recommendations from clinical supervisors
- Applications are accepted through ERAS until December 31, 2007 and must
include three letters of reference, USMLE scores, personal statement, valid
ECFMG, and other supporting documents. We review visa needs on an individual
basis and we do not offer observerships
For graduates of international medical schools:
- pre-match H-1b visa sponsorship is occasionally made to outstanding
graduates of international medical schools. Applicants should refer to the
appropriate matching program’s website for information on deadlines and match
dates
- valid ECFMG certification
- have passed part I and part II of the USMLE
