Annual James S. Ty, MD Memorial Award Presented at Guthrie

Sayre, Pa. – The 16th Annual James S. Ty, MD Memorial Award was presented to Kathy Wilson, RT(R), M – Guthrie Clinic Radiology Regional Coordinator at the Guthrie Medical Imaging Service dinner in November.

Kathy was lauded by her peers for doing what is best for the team, even if it means more work for herself. She constantly seeks out educational opportunities and then shares what she has learned with her colleagues. In true emulation of Dr. Ty, Kathy holds herself and her department to a consistently high standard.

Dr. James Ty was a radiologist at Robert Packer Hospital and the Guthrie Clinic for 15 years, setting a high standard of excellence for himself and those around him. Each year, candidates are nominated by their peers and a winner is selected on a criterion that celebrates his unwavering focus on quality and continuous improvement, as well as his commitment to Guthrie and its patients.

Nominated for the 16th Annual James S. Ty, MD Memorial Award were: Lori Havens (RPH Mammography), Larry Horton (RPH Interventional Radiology), Paulette Kozemko (RPH Diagnostic Radiography), Dr. Barry Skeist (Guthrie Clinic Radiologist), Jean Werkheiser (RPH Interventional Radiology) and Kathy Wilson (Guthrie Clinic Radiology Regional Coordinator). All were nominated by their colleagues as exemplifying the Guthrie values of patient centeredness, teamwork and excellence.
