At the conclusion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  • Describe the epidemiology.
  • Describe recurrent ischemic events in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus.
  • Identify high platelet reactivity in diabetic patients and glycemic control.
  • Review antiplatelet agents and their clinical efficacy in type 2 diabetic patients.
  • Explain newer antiplatelet agents and future prospects.
