Hospice Memorial Service
Guthrie Hospice and its staff will host the 10th annual Memorial Service/Butterfly Release on Sunday, June 8, 2014 at Mt. Pisgah State Park at the Lakeside Pavilion to celebrate the lives of those loved ones that have died this past year.
As part of the special memorial service, Guthrie Hospice will host a potluck picnic at the Lakeside Pavilion. We are asking each family to bring a dish to share; beverages and table service will be provided.
If you would like to participate in this special service of remembrance and release one or more butterflies in memory of your loved one, Guthrie Hospice is requesting a $10 donation for each butterfly to help defray the cost and shipping of the butterflies. You can purchase multiple butterflies in memory of your loved one or you can purchase butterflies for family members who have died in years past. Butterflies orders must be made with Guthrie Hospice by Friday, May 30th. To reserve a butterfly please call 1-800-598-6155.
Guthrie Hospice Bereavement Coordinator Rev. Jeffrey Wilkinson stated, “We host this service annually to provide support for the family and friends who are left after their loved one died. The butterfly release holds significant symbolism for their loved ones and it can help to honor them.”
