Community Bereavement Support Group
2 North Conference Room
Guthrie Robert Packer Hospital
The Community Bereavement Support Group is a community outreach service intended for anyone who has experienced a loss. Rev. Jeffrey Wilkinson, Guthrie Hospice Chaplain and Bereavement Coordinator, and Karen Robinson, Guthrie Hospice Social Worker, will facilitate the support group. The phases of grief are universal, but the way each person passes through each phase is unique to that individual. Pertinent topics will include understanding the grieving process, developing coping skills, improving communication, and stress management.
“This is an alternative opportunity to reach those who are unable to attend the evening support groups. By attending the Community Bereavement Support Group, you will find support from others who have suffered a loss and will know that you are not alone in your grieving process,” said Wilkinson.
Registration is not required, but it is encouraged. If you desire, you can bring a bag lunch or purchase something in the hospital cafeteria to eat. For more information or to register, call Guthrie Hospice at 1-800-598-6155, or visit Guthrie online at www.guthrie.org.
