VolunTEENs help Robert Packer hospital staff by assisting with departmental needs that improve service to patients and their families. The VolunTEEN Program gives high school students, ages 14 to 18, opportunities to gain valuable employment skills, develop professional relationships, prepare for the job market, and get a first-hand look at health care.
In the summer, VolunTEENs generally work four-hour shifts between 8 a.m. – 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. During the school year, VolunTEENs generally work shifts after school hours, Monday through Friday, between 3 p.m. – 6 p.m. Students who volunteer may also earn community service hours for credit by donating at least 40 hours.
