How to Apply
Our program is fully accredited by the ACGME and AOA. The Guthrie Family Medicine Residency participates in both the AOA match through the National Matching Service and the ACGME match through the NRMP.
We use the ERAS (Electronic Residency Application Service) program and accept only electronic applications. Please contact your Dean's office on how to apply. www.aamc.org/students/eras/

Selection criteria include the following:
While reviewing applications from graduates of US/DO Medical Schools we look for:
- Family Medicine clinical experience
- Successful completion of steps I & II of the USMLE/COMLEX exams including the Clinical Skills exam
- Graduation from medical school 5 years or less
- Three letters of recommendation from clinical supervisors
While reviewing applications from graduates of international medical schools we look for:
- Three months of US clinical experience, Family Medicine experience preferred
- Successful completion on all USMLE exams including the Clinical Skills exam
- Graduation from medical school 5 years or less
- Three letters of recommendation from U.S. clinical supervisors
- Valid ECFMG certification
- Applications are accepted until November 1st
